Check your plant’s identity
Does the label say Vaccinium macrocarpon, American cranberry or large cranberry? It is a low, creeping evergreen mat with small red berries. Highbush cranberry or cranberry bush (Viburnum) is a tall shrub, and small cranberry (Vaccinium oxycoccos), lingonberry and blueberry are different plants. If there is no label or it's unclear, choose I'm not sure; the reference picture does not confirm your plant.
Important precautions
The red berries are eaten as food, but don't assume the leaves or stems are edible. Eating very large amounts of cranberry can upset the stomach, especially in young children. If you take warfarin or other medicines, ask a health professional before using cranberry products. No veterinary record was found for pets, so keep them from eating the plant and ask a vet if they do.
